PUBG Battlegrounds
PUBG Battlegrounds (originally titled PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) is a 2017 battle royale game developed by PUBG Studios (a subsidiary of Krafton) and published by Krafton. Inspired by the Japanese film Battle Royale (2000), the game evolved from mods created by Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene for other titles, later expanding into a standalone project under his creative direction. Players can choose between first-person (FPP) or third-person (TPP) perspectives, joining up to 100 participants who parachute onto an island, scavenge for weapons and equipment, and eliminate opponents while surviving as the last person or team standing. The playable area gradually shrinks over time, forcing encounters by funneling players into tighter zones.
