Super Mario Bros 3 is a legendary side-scrolling platformer developed and released by Nintendo exclusively for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). First launched in Japan on October 23, 1988, it later debuted in North America on February 12, 1990, and in Europe on August 29, 1991. The game was developed by Nintendo’s Entertainment Analysis and Development division under the direction of Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka. In this adventure, players take on the role of Mario or Luigi as they embark on a quest to rescue Princess Toadstool and the monarchs of seven unique kingdoms from the villainous Bowser. As with earlier titles in the series, players can defeat enemies by jumping on them or using special power-up items.
