Super Smash Bros Ultimate, launched in 2018 for the Nintendo Switch, is a crossover fighting game created by Bandai Namco Studios and Sora Ltd., with Nintendo as the publisher. As the fifth main installment in the Super Smash Bros. series, it follows Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U (2014). The game retains the series’ core gameplay: players select from a diverse roster of fighters and use attacks to weaken opponents before knocking them out of the arena. It offers extensive game modes, including a single-player campaign and multiplayer versus options. Ultimate features a record-breaking 89 playable fighters, encompassing every character from previous games alongside newcomers, spanning Nintendo icons and third-party franchise representatives.
